HKS Hipermax S Full Kit Coilovers for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

HKS part 80330-AM001, the Hipermax S Cz4A Full Kit, is a full coilover suspension kit engineered specifically for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The Hipermax S line pairs a height-adjustable inverted damper design with 30-step damping adjustment, letting owners dial in ride height and damping stiffness for daily driving or track use while keeping a factory-style rubber upper mount for a comfortable ride.

Key Features

  • Full front and rear coilover kit purpose-built for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, part 80330-AM001.
  • 30-step damping force adjustment lets the driver tune compression and rebound feel.
  • Height-adjustable lower brackets allow independent ride-height tuning at each corner.
  • Inverted damper construction with a rubber upper mount for reduced NVH versus a pillow-ball setup.
  • Includes stabilizer links and a damping-force adjustment dial for tool-free tuning after installation.
  • Backed by HKS’s one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
  • Part 80330-AM001 is manufactured and quality-tested by HKS in Japan before export.

FAQ

What vehicles does this coilover kit fit?

This kit is engineered specifically for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Always confirm your exact chassis code and model year against the fitment table above before ordering.

How much does this kit lower the vehicle?

Ride height is adjustable at each corner. Consult the HKS installation manual for exact height ranges on this application.

Is the damping adjustable after installation?

Yes. The kit includes 30 steps of damping adjustment via a dial, so compression and rebound firmness can be tuned without removing the coilover.

Does this kit include stabilizer links?

Check the included components list above. Some applications reuse the factory stabilizer links depending on ride height.

Can I use this coilover kit on a different chassis or model year?

No. This kit is designed and tested only for the specific application listed in the fitment table above. Using it on an unlisted chassis or model year is not supported.

Is professional installation required?

Yes. HKS states that installation must be performed by a professional installer using a lift or jack stands, a spring compressor, and torque specifications from the installation manual.

What is the warranty on this kit?

HKS provides a one-year warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship. Purchasing through an unauthorized seller may void the warranty.

Does lowering the vehicle affect factory driver-assistance systems?

Suspension changes can affect factory driver-assistance camera or sensor calibration on some platforms. Consult your factory owner’s manual after installation.

Is a wheel alignment required after installation?

Yes. An alignment should be performed after installation and after any ride-height adjustment, and HKS recommends a break-in period of approximately 50 km at reduced speed before hard driving.

Installation Instructions

  1. Support the vehicle on an automotive lift or a garage jack with rigid jack stands. Do not use the factory vehicle jack for installation or ride-height adjustment.
  2. Remove the wheels and disconnect the factory strut assemblies following the vehicle manufacturer’s service procedure.
  3. Use a spring compressor to transfer components as needed and install the HKS Hipermax S front and rear assemblies in place of the factory struts.
  4. Reinstall the supplied stabilizer links where applicable and torque all suspension fasteners to specification without using an impact wrench on the upper mount.
  5. Set the damping-force dial to the factory default position and adjust the height-adjustable lower brackets to the desired ride height within the specified range.
  6. Reinstall the wheels, lower the vehicle, and perform a wheel alignment.
  7. Drive a break-in period of approximately 50 km at reduced speed, then recheck for any contact between tires, wheels, or suspension components.
  8. Fine-tune the damping dial and ride height to taste once break-in is complete.
